When was the last time you took some time for yourself? Sat back, took an interesting book, made yourself a cup of your favorite coffee or tea and relaxed? You don’t remember? It’s time to change that.
We all find ourselves saying how we don’t have any time left for hobbies and relaxation. I’m a strong believer that art in any form is therapeutic.
One of the things I love about the modern world is the ability to create high quality content which is satisfying to watch and you can share your passion with others.
When I’m in for a short break from work, there’s nothing I love more than watching videos on YouTube, usually channels that provide craft related content, from woodworking, 3D printing and DIY modern furniture to card and soap making. You might think it’s a weird combination, but try and and I promise it will be amazing to watch. These videos are extremely relaxing, especially if you enjoy learning about new things, materials and techniques that can later come in handy.
Even though I know I won’t be making any 3D printed sculptures, an LED fake window or make soap at home, I still love watching other people create and inspire others by posting videos of their ideas coming to life. Creators mostly use a voice-over to explain the process in detail, which is both entertaining and didactic.
Inspired by many, I decided to contribute by creating paper cutting time-lapse videos that would be relaxing and satisfying to watch. Although appropriate music is featured in most, there are a few videos that are also paper cutting lessons. But, feel free to mute the sound, open a new tab in your browser and play any music you like instead.
Hopefully it will be enjoyable to watch and perhaps you will learn a trick or two when it comes to this papercraft technique.
